With the year coming to an end, it’s time to reflect on what has been done and what will be our goal for the upcoming year.
It was one hell of a year - the Carco app finally made it to development. Although it has changed over the year, the core has always stayed the same. New functionalities were added, some existing ones got axed - all in the name of delivering the best possible user experience.
With that in mind, we decided to hold off on the beta version for a while longer. We promise it will be worth the wait. Why the delay? Well, we’ve been working on perfecting what we deem core features. For instance, we made the app faster - especially in terms of loading photo and video content. No one wants to wait too long to see a picture, right? So we embarked on a journey of finding the right ration between quality and load speed. You’ll be the judge if we were successful or not.
The new build will also bring a more precise proximity chat - we’ve encountered a problem, where your friends were always listed on top. That can be nice, but it’s not the point of proximity chat. So we fixed it to display users depending on their proximity to you. The proximity principle extends also to another section of the app - the ad section. We will roughly filter the ads to give you only the most relevant hits, but we will still equip you with a fine toothcomb so you can get the perfect ad results.
Carco is meant for communicating, so we decided to do one last thing this year. We redesigned the bump emojis to make them more expressive and fit for most common situations. We want to encourage you to express yourself quickly and be able to get straight to the point when needed. We promise to make this a reality in 2019.
